Mohammed Shami Ahmed was born on 3 September 1990 in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, India.

He is an Indian international cricketer who plays for India in all formats as a right-arm fast or fast medium bowler.

He has played for Bengal in domestic cricket and for four teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Shami is widely considered to be one of the best fast bowlers in the world. He is known for his ability to swing the ball both ways and bowl Yorkers at will.

He has been a key member of the Indian team for many years and has played a major role in their success in all formats of the game.

He is the fastest bowler to take 150 wickets in ODIs, having achieved this feat in just 80 matches.

He is also the leading wicket-taker for India at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cups, with 55 wickets in 18 matches.

He has been named to the IPL team of the year four times, in 2013, 2014, 2018 and 2023.

He was also named to the ICC ODI Team of the Year in 2018 and 2023.

He is a recipient of the Arjuna Award, which is India's highest national sports award for outstanding performance in cricket.
